4 Keys to Well-Being

In this fascinating talk by Richard Davidson* he explains that well-being is a skill that can be developed with practice.  The 4 neuro-scientifically validated constituents of well-being are:

  • Resilience
  • Positive outlook
  • Attention or being “present”
  • Generosity

He closes his talk by reinforcing that we must each take responsibility for our own mind and well-being.

*Mr. Davidson is the William James and Vilas Professor of Psychology and Psychiatry and Founder and Chair of the Center for Healthy Minds, at the Waisman Center at the University of Wisconsin.
